Myth is the Moon

by Patrick Gardner

The teaching of tolerance
has been all but banned
As we bury the facts
with our heads in the sand
While our voices cry out
for the truth we demand
We are told to go shopping
carry the cure
home in your hand

We wrap up the Earth
take it home in a sack
As we search for the means
to fill up The Gap
They can sell us the moon
with sex to attract
The myth is the moon
and we've been there and back

The leaching of government
it's all about money
As we search for some peace
where ever it's sunny
While lobbyists buy them
fine caviar and honey
We're told to stop whining
honest to god
we're doing nothing funny

The spirit is internal
the spirit is inside
Our search for the eternal
cannot be denied
We wrap up the Earth
take it home in a sack
As we search for the means
to fill up The Gap
They can sell us the moon
with sex to attract
The myth is the moon
and we've been there and back

There's a boogey man out there
and no one can hide
If you want to stay rich
profess god's on your side
For the ethics of our laws
are how big is the bribe
Let the fear trickle down
with the tears that we've cried

The spirit is internal
the spirit is inside
Our search for the eternal
cannot be denied
We wrap up the Earth
take it home in a sack
As we search for the means
to fill up The Gap
They can sell us the moon
with sex to attract
The myth is the moon
and we've been there and back

The markets can't crash
they're going to the moon
As long as you option
a bright silver spoon
So go out and buy something
not a moment too soon
Remember they're selling
the myth with the moon

We wrap up the Earth
take it home in a sack
As we search for the means
to fill up The Gap
They can sell us the moon
with sex to attract
The myth is the moon
and we've been there and back
