Salmon leaping to spawn up the Sol Duc River November 10, 2002

These are coho salmon leaping through rushing rapids and UP small waterfalls so they can spawn
(lay their eggs) up the Sol Duc River on the Olympic Peninsula in WA state...then they die!

These photos were taken from the Salmon Cascades in Olympic National Park on a beautiful fall, rainy afternoon.
