David Leviton
Leviton specializes in
photographing artwork, such as Claire Favro's textile art featured
in this issue.
"I have been taking
photos, as most of us have, since an early age-going on some 40
years now. About 11 years ago, I started venturing into the
commercial end of photography in an attempt to pay for the large
format cameras of which I had become a fervent user. After an
interesting encounter with a starving artist about 6 years ago,
I became acutely aware that this is where I wanted to go with the
business...dedicated to photographing other peoples' artwork.
I get a deep thrill seeing new work and being able to make a record
of the pieces. For my personal photographic endeavours, I
concentrate on roses and the patterns and texture of driftwood."
David keeps a studio in
the lower level of the Amy Burnett Gallery in Washington State.
