The Tenth Insight

The Tenth Insight is the realization that throughout history human beings have been unconsciously struggling to implement this lived spirituality on Earth. Each of us comes here on assignment, and as we pull this understanding into consciousness, we can remember a fuller birth vision of what we wanted to accomplish with our lives. Furthermore, we can remember a common world vision of how we will all work together to create a new spiritual culture. We know that our challenge is to hold this vision with intention and prayer every day.

As the world population rapidly increased, it became necessary, and at times even urgent, to create technological advances in order to accommodate and service the growth. And while we were immersed in the search for these advances, spiritual matters were relegated to the depths of our consciousness. But they were always there, just below the waves, bubbling up at various times throughout history on the influence of saints and mystics.

During the last third of the twentieth century, the bubbles came up again, this time manifesting in art expression, social turmoil, and an obsessive desire for peace, the latter triggered by unprecedented acts of violence in every corner of the world. And then there were the "evolutionary scouts," the writers and thinkers who brought to the world, in highly visible works, the reality of a new possibility and the chance for transformation. As the century ended, and a new one-and a new millennium-began, there is a renewed sense of expectation that the spiritual trend will continue, and perhaps usher in a new age, the Soul Age.

While technological advance must and will continue, it must occur in conjunction with the search for spirit in each of us. It is a unique chance, one that may not come again, and it is up to each of us to hold the vision of the emerging spirituality.

Bookshelves are lined with self-help books. Philosophy, psychology, and "new age" sections in bookstores hold unprecedented inventories. Conversations about self-development, "working on oneself," and spirituality can be heard in every place that people congregate, and classes, seminars, and computer chat-room forums abound on the subject. People have had enough of the "focus on technology" mindset. They want to pay attention to themselves for a change instead of a mechanical invention, and particularly to that part of themselves that they believe can be immortal.

The power of prayer has become more prevalent in our consciousness, thanks in part to the exciting new research on the subject, particularly in the writings of Dr. Larry Dossey. And the power of intention, or "thought energy," is practiced by more and more people every day, all around the world. The youngsters of today, the Children of the New Milennium, are more "tuned in" to consciousness and spirituality than any other generation in history, as they've come on to the scene in the midst of this global awakening. It will be their mission to accelerate the evolution of consciousness on this planet and "supervise" the work we've begun.

Tiger Woods, at a young age, continues to set records in the world of professional golf. His visit to the zone has been an extraordinarily long one, but it's no surprise. Tiger was raised in an atmosphere of Eastern tradition and thought, and this "thought energy" was well developed at a young age. The twenty-first century will see many more people like Tiger Woods, consciously developed, intuitive, creative beyond the norm, and blessed with a full arsenal of natural gifts. Special people who come along-like Tiger Woods-help us all to hold the vision of our higher potentials.
