CHRIS DUFF:  During the story selection process for SpirituallyFit.com, Chris Duff was a perfect match for the type of spiritual adventurer we wanted to share with our readers.  Those who follow Chris' adventures for the pure sport of it would assume him to be a stereotypical, macho thrill-seeker.   However, upon meeting him and reading his book, there's no mistaking the spiritual strength and humility embodied in this accomplished solo kayaker.

On Celtic Tides is a memoir unlike any you will ever read. It is an intricately woven tapestry of two journeys: one of the sea with its moments of tranquillity and contrasting terror; the other, an inner exploration--a spiritual awakening born of the haunting beauty and rich history that Duff discovers among the stone ruins of islands monasteries and coastal cottages.  We are thrilled to bring you two excerpts from his book in our first issue of SpirituallyFit.com!

AL HARRIS:  SpirituallyFit.com chose to broaden its horizons to include stories about spiritual experiences through music after meeting Al Harris and learning about The Healing Power of Music.  His two audio-cassettes and booklet tell how music can benefit you physically, mentally and emotionally.  The instrumentals on his tape can:

  • Make easier life transitions
  • Clear away confusion
  • Begin new projects without past clutter
  • Get unstuck creatively
  • Re-balance the body's 12 energy pathways

CHARMAINE MANDELL:  As we searched for spiritual stories it was word of mouth that led us to Charmaine.   Through a simple statement: "By the way, if you know of any writers that have spiritual stories to submit to our site, please send them our way!".  Both Charmaine Mandell and Al Harris came to us appreciating the opportunity to share their spiritual stories!

Charmaine's book, Remember Tomorrow: A Woman's Companion, is about child abuse and is a key to reducing violence in society, beginning in the home.  SpirituallyFit.com would not have consciously made a connection to ask someone like Charmaine for a spiritual adventure story but, we are delighted to share her short story in our first milennium issue!
